Corrosion Inhibitor for
Closed Cooling Water Systems
Geopure® 4000 is a high-performance corrosion inhibitor
designed for closed loop cooling and chilled water
systems. It provides long-term protection to mild steel,
copper, and copper alloys by forming a stable and durable
passivation film on metal surfaces.
Closed systems, though less prone to scaling, are highly
susceptible to corrosion due to low make-up water and
stagnant zones. Geopure® 4000 effectively addresses this
challenge by maintaining corrosion control, minimizing
system leaks, and extending equipment life. It is suitable
for HVAC chilled water loops, process cooling circuits,
and other closed recirculating water systems.

- Film Formation: Develops a protective layer on system metallurgy to prevent oxidation and pitting.
- Copper Alloy Compatibility: Safeguards copper and brass components, preventing galvanic corrosion.
- Operational Reliability: Ensures long-term system protection with minimal maintenance.
- System Efficiency: Reduces corrosion-related fouling and leakage, enhancing heat transfer performance.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for HVAC chilled water loops, industrial closed cooling systems, and process cooling applications.
Geopure 4000 Nitrite based corrosion inhibitor
program should be added directly to the system in
its neat form either in makeup tank or dose thru pot
feeder system. Typically utilized at 500 to 1,500
ppm at pH>7.5. Residuals (150 to 250 ppm) must be
maintained to constantly repair gaps in the film
barrier.
Start-up Dosage Pattern
The start-up (passivation) dosage of Geopure 4000 is
5 – 10 Kg. for each 1000 Ltr. of water in the system
This will provide a sodium nitrite residual of 300
ppm as NO2.
Note:
If the make-up water has high chloride levels e.g.
brackish water, then the normal dose rate should be
doubled.
Geopure 4000 is 2.0 – 4.0 Kg. for every 1000 Ltr. Makeup or as per the residual level.
| pH | 9.5 – 10.5 |
